Dr. Kayula Siame is an economist and consultant with over 30 years of experience in private sector development, business environment reform, trade, investment facilitation, and entrepreneurship. She specializes in entrepreneurship advisory, SME strategy and growth, innovation and digital transformation, investment strategies, market research, business development, and leadership. A strong advocate for private sector development, Dr. Siame believes in the transformative power of entrepreneurship, innovation, and education as key drivers of economic growth.Throughout her career, she has held several key positions such as Programme Coordinator, Private Sector Development Reform Programme, Permanent Secretary, in the Ministries of Commerce, Trade and Industry, Higher Education and Technology and Science.
She has led business environment and licensing reforms, trade reforms, and SME development initiatives. Spearheaded efforts to enhance commerce, industry, and trade, fostering sustainable development and private sector competitiveness. Directed policy formulation and implementation in higher education, skills development, and science, technology, and innovation, ensuring access to quality education and entrepreneurial skills. Provided strategic leadership on digital transformation and innovation, advocating for science and research. As a Regional Investment Expert, SADC-EU Programme she contributed to developing an enabling investment policy framework for SADC member states. Dr. Siame was the first female Chairperson of the Lusaka Securities Exchange and has played a significant role in international negotiations, notably as Zambia’s chief negotiator for the African Continental Free Trade Area. She is also the Co-founder of EntrepreNovate Consulting, where she provides consultancy services in private sector development, business environment reform, investment, entrepreneurship development, and entrepreneurship education.
Mavis Kyakilika Bota is an ILO Certified Trainer specializing in business development and SME advisory, with a focus on enhancing small businesses and cooperatives in Zambia. With over a decade of experience in international development, Mavis has been training entrepreneurs in resilient business growth, and transformation since 2023. Her approach combines stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, and capacity building to help businesses thrive in challenging environments.
As a skilled trainer, Mavis has successfully delivered customized programs such as SIYB and EYB to a variety of audiences, empowering them to develop sustainable business strategies. Her expertise also includes , fundraising, and business model development, making her well-equipped to guide organizations toward long-term success. Mavis has extensive professional experience, including her role as a Consultant Entrepreneurship Trainer at Vision Unlimited, where she has led training and coaching sessions for SMEs, including cooperatives. She has also worked as a Program Officer with world Vision, Christian Aid, Norwegian Church Aid, and Danish Church Aid, overseeing and managing development projects in disadvantaged communities. She has worked in multicultural environments and has engaged at community, national and international levels, enabling and supporting sustainable development programs which equally is her passion. She is also a Co-founder of EntrepreNovate Consulting.
